UFC 217

In this article, we’ll first discuss what UFC 217 is all about, highlighting the evening’s fight card (and it is an impressive one). If you’re new to Ultimate Fighting, we’ll also briefly talk about UFC, what it is and where it came from. We’ll then dive into our core subject and show you five ways you can watch UFC 217 live as it happens on Saturday night. We’ll even include detailed instructions on how to install the required Kodi add-ons, should you want to use the popular media player to watch the program.

UFC 217: What You Should Know

Summarized in one sentence: UFC 217 is a one-night Ultimate Fighting event that will include some of the world’s most impressive fighters, including three championship fights. It will take place on Saturday, November 4th at 10:00 PM (American Eastern Time) at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden. It is an event no ultimate fighting fan will want to miss.

The UFC 217 Fight Card

The evening’s main card features five fights, three of them being championship title fights. The main event is definitely the middleweight title fight between defending champion Michael Bisping (31 wins, 7 losses) a.k.a. The Count from Manchester, England, and Georges St-Pierre (25 wins, 2 losses) a.k.a. Rush from Montreal, Canada. It promises to be one hell of a fight.

Another featured event is the bantamweight championship fight. It will oppose current champion Cody Garbrandt (11-0) to TJ Dillashaw (15-3) both from the USA. You won’t want to miss it.

The fight card for UFC 217 also includes the women’s strawweight championship fight. The current champion, undefeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk from Olsztyn, Poland will defend her title against Rose Mamajunas (7-3) from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Other fights on the event’s main card include American welterweight Stephen Thompson, currently ranking second opposing Jorge Masvidal, ranking fourth. Also worth noting is the fight between USA’s Johny Hendricks and Brazil’s Paulo Borrachinha.

With all these great fighters lining up, the stakes are high and the action is guaranteed.

Some Background on UFC

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the world’s most important Mixed Martial Arts organization. It is based in Las Vegas, Nevada and is the property of WME–IMG. It features the top fighters in the sport.

The UFC produces events worldwide that abide by the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. Their first event dates back to 1993 and, as of 2017, the UFC has held over 400 events.

Protect Yourself While Streaming, Use a VPN

Your Internet Service provider may be monitoring your activity to ensure you’re not violating their terms and conditions. And if they ever suspect you are, they could react by sending you infringement notices, throttling down your speed or simply interrupting your service. A VPN will prevent your ISP from seeing what you’re doing by encrypting your data. And as an additional benefit (and this is what’s important for UFC 217) using a VPN will let you access geo-blocked content by spoofing your location.

When choosing one of the many VPN providers, there are a few important factors to consider. A fast connection speed will prevent buffering, no-logging policies will further protect your privacy, no usage restrictions will let you access any content at full speed and software that is available for many platforms will let you use any device you want.

Our Recommended VPN – IPVanish

UFC 217 on November 4th Five Ways You Can Watch It - IPVanish

After testing several VPNs, the one we recommend for most users is IPVanish. With servers worldwide, no speed caps or throttling, unlimited bandwidth, unrestricted traffic, no logging and client software available for most platforms, IPVanish meets all our criteria, and then some.

IPVanish offers a 7-day money back guarantee which means you have a week to test it risk-free. Please note that Addictive Tips readers can save a massive 60% here on the IPVanish annual plan, taking the monthly price down to only $4.87/mo.

Five Ways You Can Watch UFC 217

So, you want to watch that epic fighting night on Saturday? We’ve identified five sure-fire ways it can be done. Some of them are easy, while others require a little more work on your part. Furthermore, with strong geographical restrictions in place, many viewers will require the use of a VPN to spoof their location.

Pay-per-view Options

The heavyweight champion of premium sports media delivery has long been the pay-per-view model. While there are costs involved, paying them is the only hurdle to jump in order to watch UFC 217 in stunning high definition. Below are three popular viewing options for you to consider.

Method 1 – Pay-per-view from Your Cable or Satellite Provider

If you have cable or satellite TV service and if your provider offers pay-per-view content, chances are they will be offering UFC 217. That is, of course, if you’re located in an area that is not geographically restricted. Most mainstream American cable and satellite providers offer it. It will cost you about 60 dollars for the right to watch the event.

It is expensive but, if your provider offers it, it certainly is the easiest way to watch this event. And it will likely give you the best quality and viewing experience.

Method 2 – Pay-per-view On a Computer Directly from UFC (or Use Your UFC Fight Pass)

This is another easy way of watching this unforgettable UFC event. UFC’s live streaming site, ufc.tv will broadcast the event live on Saturday night. This method’s availability is also dependant on your geographical location. You might have to use a VPN to access it. But if you are in a suitable location, you can purchase access to the live event on a pay-per-view basis. The cost is about 60 dollars, just like with the cable and satellite offerings.

If you already subscribe to UFC Fight Pass, you won’t need to pay extra and will be able to watch the event live. This is, of course, provided that you’re located in a region where it is available.

Method 3 – Pay-per-view from a TV Box

The third way you can watch UFC 217 is an extension of method 2. Both UFC Fight Pass and pay-per-view are available on several popular TV set-top boxes. These include the Amazon Fire TV, the Apple TV, the Roku, the Sony PlayStation and LG and Samsung smart TVs. You’ll need a UFC Fight Pass subscription to use them, but they are great alternatives if you want to watch the event on your TV rather than a computer.

Finally, click OK at the bottom of the Add file source box.
